Alcoholic Beverage Sale License Controls to Consider

Thankfully, our neighborhood does not have lots of liquor stores selling pocket sized bottles of booze. If you receive notice for a new alcoholic beverage license application from a nearby address, I suggest you attempt to get the following conditions included in the license.

– No distilled spirits below 3.75 mL in size
– No wine with alcoholic content greater than 15% by volume
– No malt liquor beverage with alcoholic content greater than 5.7% by volume
– No person under the age of 21 shall sell alcoholic beverages
– Petitioner shall not allow patrons to loiter outside their place of business
– Petitioner shall illuminate the area so that activities outside the place of business can be monitored
– Not more than 10% of the store’s square footage may be used for the display of alcoholic beverages
– Not more than 1/4 of the store’s window space may be occupied by advertisements for alcoholic beverage products
– No exterior advertising promoting the availability of alcoholic beverages
– Graffiti shall be removed from the premises within 72 hours
– Store closure by 10PM
