Get Involved: SFPD Southern Station, Transbay CAC Meetings this Week

On the heels of the 4th of July, there are a couple of community meetings this week that might interest you.

Tonight (July 7) at 6 p.m., The Southern Station’s Police Community Relations Forum for June has been rescheduled for Tonight, :

Tonight, Monday, July 7th at 6 p.m. is the SFPD Southern Station’s Police Community Relations Forum.

Meeting location:
The Odd Fellows Building
26 7th Street
2nd Floor (in the Club Room)

Parking, if necessary is either on the street or in the SOMA garage ($1.00 per hr.). They advise people not to park on Stevenson Street.

On Thursday (July 10th), the Transbay CAC is meeting at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on the 2nd floor at 5:30 p.m. There are some administrative items at first, but a discussion about “infrastructure needs” certainly motivates me to try my best to show up to this meeting. It may be an opportunity for me toss in my desires for improved pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements – starting with traffic calming and complemented with wider sidewalks, crosswalk bulb outs, and mid-block crosswalks on those long, uninterrupted blocks in SoMa that reflect the past’s train transportation mode in the area. Here’s more information from a past Rincon Hill neighborhood blog post.

Please try to get involved in those meetings that interest and/or affect you the most.
