Transbay CAC Meeting – Presentation by Recommended Block 11A (Supportive Housing Project) Team

The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency appears to be recommending the team of Bridge Housing and Community Housing Partnership with Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects and UCSF CItywide Case Management Services for the Transbay Redevelopment Area’s Block 11A supportive housing project.
Those of you who attended the December 2008 meeting of the Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association at the One Rincon Hill community room had the opportunity to meet Michael and David from Community Housing Partnership and provide input about our concerns as neighbors regarding this project.
I believe it will be very important for Rincon Hill residents to get involved now and to stay involved in the Block 11a supportive housing project. We need to make sure the folks living in the supportive housing feel respected and also feel a sense of responsibility to maintain and improve the quality of life in Rincon Hill – and the only way that I believe that will happen is if we make sure we get engaged with this project and get to know all the stakeholders involved. I believe that if we do not engage the residents and make them feel like an important part of our community fabric from the start, it’ll be harder to build that bridge down the road.
This Thursday, March 12th, you all have the opportunity to see a 20 minute presentation from this recommended team for Block 11A and another 20 minutes to hear discussion (and maybe a chance to make public comments at the very end). There are other items on the agenda of interest in Rincon Hill, but I know this is the hot one.
You can sign up for these meeting notices at the Redevelopment Agency web site.
