What's Happening at Pier 24?

One of the items about which Dan Hodapp from the Port of San Francisco graciously provided some insights to the community at the Rincon Point-South Beach CAC meeting on Monday was the construction work that’s been happening at Pier 24 for the last few weeks (months maybe?). Pier 24 (between Harrison and Bryant Streets) is benefitting from private monies to fix the pier substructure, and it will be used to store a large collection of artwork. No other details were given, but of course my mind went right to Don Fisher of Gap Inc. and his desire to store his artwork in a museum at The Presidio …. who knows for sure, but I’m happy to hear one of the piers is being saved with private money.
