After spending the past week in Rodanthe on Hatteras Island of the Outer Banks in North Carolina, I am happy to be back to my City that affords me the chance to get around via my own two legs quite a bit.
An email I received from the Walk San Francisco advocacy group mentioned a photo contest. If you just to want to find out the details, visit the contest web site.
From the Transportation and Land Use Coalition photo contest info:
The Bay Area faces a significant challenge over the next 25 years as the population of the region will increase by 1.7 million people—24 percent. Where will these people live? How will they get around? Will families and workers be able to afford homes here? Will we protect the Bay Area’s remaining open spaces? What about our air and water quality? Will we build a strong, equitable economy? What does the future of the Bay Area look like?
This is where we come in as a neighborhood…. especially since we host the soon to be new again Transbay Terminal Center in Rincon Hill. There are some prizes… so dust off that digital camera and capture some images. Feel free to add them to the Rincon Hill group on www.flickr.com while you’re at it so that we can see your photos here on www.RinconHillSF.org.
