While you probably already know that Rincon Hill hosts the starting point of the Bay to Breakers race this coming Sunday morning, you may not know about the following events.
The Asian Heritage Street Celebration provides a party acknowledging the entire Asian Pacific American community. The event happens on Saturday, May 16th from 11am until 6pm at Civic Center, Larking, and McAllister streets. Go to www.asianfairsf.com to learn more.
The Life is Good Festival, also on Saturday, May 16th, happens at Speedway Meadow at Golden Gate Park (near Fulton and 25th Avenue) from 11am until 5pm. This is a family event with a theme of optimism. Learn more at www.lifeisgood.com
Further down the road, the Java Jam Music Social happens every now and then at Java House (near Pier 40 and South Beach Park). The next event happens on Sunday, May 24th from 2pm – 7pm at Java House. Several local musicians play as you hang out, listen, and socialize.
Almost every Saturday afternoon, you can find a free performance put together by the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. On Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoon, check out Union Square’s Jewels in the Square performances.
