Halloween Meeting May 30th

City officials will host a discussion of plans for this year’s Halloween party this Wednesday, May 30th at 5:30pm at the Davies campus of the California Pacific Medical Center in the North Tower building’s level B auditorium.
The idea of moving the party to Piers 30/32 sounds dead on arrival because of liability issues with the surface of that pier and, more importantly, an objection by the Port. The current notion is to move it to Parking Lot A (Port’s seawall lot 337) just south of AT&T Park. According to the Bay Area Reporter, planners are discussing a free event along with a paid entry event at the site.
The discussion will be hosted by Supervisor Bevan Dufty, Entertainment Commissioner Audrey Joseph, and police officials. Unless there are folks from Mission Bay and South Beach in attendance to speak up, the event will probably come our way. That doesn’t mean folks will actually go there instead of the Castro – but that’s the hope and intent. I encourage you to attend if you’re interested in voicing your opinion one way or the other about the move to Parking Lot A.
