This is very exciting, and I hope that everyone with an interest will take advantage of this and follow-up meetings.
The Planning Department is initiating a planning effort for the southern portion of downtown San Francisco, with a particular focus on the vicinity of the Transbay Transit Center (Rincon Hill).
When: Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm
Where: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Forum, 701 Mission St. (between 3rd and 4th Streets)
The meeting place is ADA accessible.
The new Transbay Transit Center will be a big hub for public transit and a big chunk of the Rincon Hill neighborhood. Please try to make the time to get involved in this process. If you’re looking for something to request, I’d suggest securing the proposed public green space at Howard and Main along with any other green space we can find. Maybe eliminate vehicle traffic on one of the roads (Folsom would be perfect!) and turn it into a pedestrian plaza for socializing and other neighborhood activities.
