Meeting to Help Prioritize Order of Rincon Hill Streetscape Improvements

Meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 6pm at South Beach Harbor Services Community Room!

Please print out this flyer and share it with your neighbors!

Please save the date of Wednesday, May 13, 2015 for a Department of Public Works hosted meeting to help them determine the priority order of streets improvements in Rincon Hill.  The meeting will be held at the South Beach Harbor Services Community Room, located between Pier 40 and AT&T Ballpark near the South Beach Marina boat docks. The meeting start time is confirmed at 6pm.

Rincon Hill has a lot of busy, dangerous streets that worked fine when there were just warehouses and train tracks in the area. However, with 15,000 -20,000 residents expected to live in the Rincon Hill and Transbay Redevelopment areas once all the new construction is completed in the next 5 years or so, the hope is that the streets will be much safer by design for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers.

There is limited money available, so the community is being asked to help decide which streets get improvements in what order of priority.

Do your homework prior to the Wednesday, May 13th meeting by reviewing the Rincon Hill Streetscape Master Plan.

The Rincon Hill Area Plan was approved in 2005. Unfortunately, there was no Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) created for our Rincon Hill neighborhood to help City departments, like DPW, get a good source of feedback on infrastructure projects named in the Rincon Hill Area Plan like the Streetscape Master Plan that is the subject of the May 13th meeting. The best efforts option is to host a community meeting where hopefully a good chunk of neighbors attend and talk through the practical options, constraints, and provide feedback on preferences.
