Preview of Condo Proposal for Seawall Lot 351 by Ferry Building

Two proposals were received on December 19, 2008 for Seawall Lot 351 on The Embarcadero at Washington Street. Proposals were received from San Francisco Waterfront Partners II and Dhaval Panchal. (Jamie’s note: Dhaval Panchal has since withdrawn his proposal to develop a hotel on the seawall lot.) The remaining developer will be making a presentation of their proposal at the January 13, 2009 Port Commission meeting.

The meeting will be at 3:15 p.m. at the Ferry Building, 2nd Floor Hearing Room. A staff report will be posted on the Port’s website by Friday January 9, 2008.

No action will be taken as the technical review of the proposal as called for in the RFP is not yet completed. NEWAG will be discussing the proposal at length at its February 4, 2009 meeting. Following the review of the proposal, the Port Commission will consider options for this site. Policy making will be informed by technical evaluation of the proposals and public comment.

Perhaps the Port should wait until the economy improves and go out for another RFP.
