THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS COMPILED FROM VARIOUS SOURCES INCLUDING SAN FRANCISCO POLICE DEPARTMENT (SFPD), PATROL SPECIAL POLICE (PSP), BUSINESS OWNERS AND RESIDENTS TO ASSIST US IN UNDERSTANDING CRIME TRENDS AND APPLYING MITIGATION EFFORTS WE CAN ALL TAKE.

00:30 hrs. – DRUNK & DISORDERLY / RESISTING ARREST – Two SFPD officers were driving by Pete’s Tavern and observed two suspicious black females in front of night club. The females began to fight and resist the officers. A PSP patrol was in the area and backed up the SFPD officers. Both the females continued to resist but were ultimately arrested for resisting arrest and drunk in public.

22:40 hrs. CRIMINAL TRESSPASS – PSP responded to a call from the bartender from Pete’s Tavern as they were unable to get a homeless man, who was sleeping in their restroom, to leave. A couple of employees tried to get him out, but he wouldn’t go. PSP officers arrived in about one minute and removed the homeless person from the restroom without further incident. No arrest was made.

00:20 hrs PSP SUSPICIOUS PERSON – PSP received a report from residents who live at 2 Townsend, building 2, advising of a suspicious prowler in a building across the street from them at 650 Delancy whom they suspected was trying to break in. PSP responded in about 30 seconds, made their way into the 650 Delancy Street backyard area and made contact with the suspicious person. Following a short investigation it was determined the individual lived there and PSP made sure he had a key to the apartment he was attempting to gain entry to. He had on a hood and the lights were off and it was very dark in the backyard area. (Residents may want to consider installing motion sensor lighting in that area for additional security)

20:15 hrs PSP LOITERING – While on foot patrol PSP officers notices a homeless individual sleeping next to MoMo’s restaurant on the 2nd St. side who was blocking the sidewalk. PSP moved him along, and he complied without incident.

00:20 hrs PSP TRESSPASS – PSP officers received a call to MoMo’s restaurant as there was a homeless man sleeping at a table in the dining room area. They could not get him to leave. PSP arrived in less than four minutes and removed him from the restaurant. We conducted extra patrols in the area before and after the game because of the massive amount of people in the area.

SPECIAL ITEMS OF NOTE
COMMUNITY COLLABORATION ON SAFETY & SECURITY MEETING
Please plan to join the rest of the community on MONDAY JANUARY 11, 2010 at the South Beach Harbor community room at 6pm to find out more about our community collaborative on safety and security. SF-SAFE, Community Patrol, Patrol Special Police, San Francisco Police Department and a representative from the District Attorney’s office will be present to discuss the collaborative effort and answer questions.

SFFD NERT TRAINING
Following the Loma Prieta earthquake, the San Francisco Fire Department realized they would require a significant amount of civilian assistance in the vent of another major earthquake or disaster. In response they developed the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT). NERT is a FREE six class, eighteen hour education and certification course which provides VITAL information on how to prepare for, respond to and help your family and neighbors in the event of a disaster.

SFFD will host a NERT class on six consecutive WEDNESDAY evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm beginning JANUARY 13th, 2010 at the SFFD Headquarters, 2nd & Townsend Street.

ALL residents and business owners in the neighborhood are strongly encouraged to attend this incredible, FREE, and exciting training which is conducted by SFFD fire personnel. If you are unable to make all six classes, you can do make-up classes at other courses held throughout the city, throughout the year.
