WHAT:
International Rescue Committee Presents Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars, a documentary film screening and benefit

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) will present a benefit screening of Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars, an award-winning documentary about a group of musicians who form a band after meeting in a West African refugee camp. The evening includes a “Backstage Reception” for premium ticket buyers sponsored by San Francisco Magazine, screening of Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars and discussion with the filmmakers at the Premier Theater, followed by a general reception at Pres a Vi. All events take place within the Letterman Digital Arts Center in the Presidio of San Francisco.

WHEN/ WHERE:
Monday, June 9
6:00pm – Backstage Reception – Pres a Vi (1 Letterman Drive, The Presidio of San Francisco)

7:00 – Film screening followed by a post-screening discussion with the filmmakers and special refugee guests – Premier Theater (Letterman Digital Arts Center, 1 Letterman Drive, The Presidio of San Francisco)

9:00 p.m. General Reception at Pres a Vi (1 Letterman Drive, The Presidio of San Francisco)

WHO: Filmmaker Banker White and band member Black Nature, as well as other refugee guests.
Event Co-chairs: Melissa Kepner, Maggie Mack and Jill Maisto

TICKETS: Tickets range in price from $150 to $500 and should be purchased in advance by calling 510/869-2313 or emailing BayAreaEvents@theIRC.org. Proceeds benefit IRC programs worldwide, including assistance for refugees who resettle in the Bay Area.
