U.S. Immigration Station at Angel Island Grand Re-Opening

The Angel Island Immigration Station, the Ellis Island of the West re-opens tomorrow, February 15th, to the public, according to an article in today’s San Francisco Chronicle.

Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, and activities continue until 3:00 p.m. according to the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation’s web site. You can try to get over there via a Blue & Gold Ferry leaving at 8:45 a.m. for the 10:30 a.m. Dedication Ceremony from Pier 41 (about 400 tickets for the ride are sold in the morning, first-come, first-served). Other scheduled ferry boats from Pier 41 to Angel Island depart at 10:35 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Check it out when you get a chance!
