Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association meeting on Tuesday, August 4th

The next Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association meeting will happen at the beautiful art deco Sailors’ Union of the Pacific building (450 Harrison Street, enter main entrance at Harrison Street) on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 6:30pm.

RHNA member (and Sailors’ Union of the Pacific Building Manager) Terry Lane graciously offered to host our August meeting.

We will have a chance to tour the Sailors’ Union of the Pacific building, which was the site of many a great concert and dances for many years along San Francisco’s waterront. We’ll also learn about the current activities by the Sailors’ Union of the Pacific and the aspirations for the future potential community uses of the building if funding becomes available either through fees or possibly fundraising.

If we have time to spare, we will take some time to discuss our aspirations for the Rincon Hill Neighborhood Association. The Association is set up, and we can act as a vehicle to help you with your neighborhood improving projects if you’re willing to lead the charge. I’ll be talking about a program with DPW where residents help to keep the streets in our area clean, but please bring your ideas for small projects we can accomplish together on a shoestring budget too!

Please RSVP online to give us an idea of how many folks plan to attend. Hope to see you there!

If you cannot attend this August 4th meeting, I hope to see you on September 1st at The Infinity’s Club Lounge when we host Dan Hodapp from The Port of San Francisco who will talk about the Brannan Street Wharf and Embarcadero Pedestrian Promenade projects along with John King from The San Francisco Chronicle who will discuss the interesting ideas for some of the pieces of property in the Rincon Hill neighborhood that are just fields of dirt at the moment along with other urban living issues that he discusses in his articles. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm.
