Buy Today's San Francisco Chronicle

If you enjoy learning about the history of San Francisco, you should buy a copy of today’s San Francisco Chronicle. Carl Nolte writes about the beginnings of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper in a print-edition only article (as far as I can tell). Images of the very first “The Daily Dramatic Chronicle” (as it was called then), originally printed on January 16, 1865, appear in the special wraparound cover of today’s paper.
By the way, I noticed in mid-December that a new Chronicle newspaper box was set up on Main Street by the Embarcadero Postal Center. While I highly recommend you subscribe to the Chronicle, you can pick up a copy (while available) from this new neighborhood newspaper box.
