Temporary Transbay Terminal Set to Open in May 2010

According to the San Francisco Examiner, the Transbay JPA and transit service providers are beginning to gear up for a May 2010 move from the current Transbay Terminal at 1st and Mission Streets to the newly built Temporary Transbay Terminal at Howard and Main Streets.

Transbay JPA executive director Maria Ayerdi-Kaplan said the Authority is currently working on operating procedures. I’d suggest neighbors contact the Authority at info@transbaycenter.org to ask for a “hotline” for Rincon Hill neighbors to call about buses idling along the streets for longer than the allotted 3 minute limit and to report oddities we may see. The Transbay JPA has been great about working with neighbors and keeping us informed about their projects.

Congratulations to the Transbay JPA for being in a financial position to move forward!
