Transbay Demolition and Howard Street Closure

From the Transbay JPA ….

Transbay Demolition Update: REMINDER: Street Closure Begins TONIGHT at 10:00 PM

In order to make way for the new Transbay Transit Center at First and Mission Streets in downtown San Francisco, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) must demolish the existing bus ramps and Transbay Terminal facility.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but in order to expedite the first segment of demolition, which includes the removal of the bus ramp over Howard Street (near the Temporary Terminal site), we will be performing some night and early morning work over the weekend.

Due to the demolition work, Howard Street, between Beale and Main Streets, will be closed tonight at 10:00 pm until 5:00 am on Monday, August 16, 2010.

Please note: drivers who use the parking lot at 201 Mission Street (off Howard Street), will be flagged into and out of the parking lot during this time.

If you have any general questions about the Transbay Transit Center Project, please call Courtney Lodato or Adam Alberti at (415) 227-9700.

If you have any time sensitive questions regarding demolition activities, please call (415) 409-8572.

  1. Thanks for posting. As an update, we expect the deck removal to be complete by 11 pm tonight (Saturday). This means the conclusion of the jackhammering for the weekend work.

  2. As an adendum to the last post, Jack hammering will resume Sunday AM.
