Transbay Temporary Terminal Construction Update

Hola from Barcelona …

I won’t be updating the Association’s blog much while on vacation, but I did find this email from the Transbay JPA worth taking a moment to post.

We wanted to share with you some of our recent progress on building the Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal, which will serve bus riders in the interim while the new Transbay Transit Center is being constructed at First and Mission streets.

We have recently completed pouring the foundations for the two buildings on the site. You will begin to see more activity on the site as we move forward with the pouring of the new curb and gutter along Folsom and Main streets and along the east half of the sidewalk on Howard Street. Upon completion, the existing pedestrian detour will be moved and the current MUNI stop will be re-established near the corner of Howard and Main streets.

This week, the modular structures of the AC Transit and Security buildings began to arrive and they will be set up next week. The Greyhound modules are scheduled to arrive early next week.

Please remember that sidewalk closures are in process and will occur along Folsom, Beale and Main streets until the Temporary Terminal facility is completed this fall. Sidewalk access on Howard Street will remain open during construction.

Thank you for your interest in the project. Please continue to visit www.TemporaryTerminal.org for construction updates or join our mailing list.

Thank you for your patience.
