Transbay Temporary Terminal: Folsom Street Sidewalk and Street Parking Closures
|January 12, 2009||Posted by jamie under Transbay Transit Center||
I’m anxious to see the two buildings on the Transbay Temporary Terminal site torn down – they’re both attracting vandals and graffitti on a regular basis now. Anyway, here’s a note I received from the Transbay Temporary Terminal mailing list that notes there will be intermittant closures of the sidewalk and/or street parking along Folsom Street between Beale and Main Streets.
Don’t forget the Transbay JPA CAC meeting on Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Transbay JPA offices at 201 Mission Street, Suite 2100, open to the public.
The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) continues to make exciting progress with the Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal project, the first step in the Transbay Transit Center Program. Site preparations are underway and project construction commenced on December 10, 2008, with the groundbreaking for the bus facility that will serve passengers while the new, multi-modal Transbay Transit Center is under construction.
You will begin to see preparations to facilitate construction over the coming months. Part of this initial construction will include demolition of the two buildings that currently occupy the south-east corner of the project site and stripping the asphalt from the project site. During this time, Folsom Street between Main and Beale streets will experience sidewalk and street parking closures.
Traffic disruptions are not anticipated due to the demolition activity.
