AlertSF.org says stay away from Market Street east of 3rd Street

If you are already signed up for AlertSF.org, the City’s emergency text messaging system, you probably received tonight’s Alert saying …
Please be advised there is a traffic disruption at Market and Montgomery. Expect Muni and traffic delays.
I believe the folks blocking Market Street are upset with the attacks on Palestinians by Israeli military in the Gaza Strip the past few days.
As an aside, traffic is a mess in general around Rincon Hill tonight – the lower deck of the Bay Bridge had a 5-car accident blocking 4 lanes for most of the 5 o’clock hour according to my buddy on KRON-4 news, adding to the dangers for pedestrians and bicyclists who are taken for granted by quite a few of the folks driving around our neighborhood. Be safe out there – pause before crossing the street to make sure the knuckleheads driving the cars wrecklessly (excessive speeds driven by impatience) see you and are stopped first.
