Bicycle Lanes on Bay Bridge

The Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) may budget funds this morning to study the possibility of setting up bicycle lanes on the western span of the Bay Bridge, connecting Treasure Island and the Rincon Hill Neighborhood of San Francisco.  While the new eastern span is already designed to include pedestrian and bicycle paths, at a cost of about $50 million. In other bridge related news, Caltrans has decided to shut down the Bay Bridge for major work over the Labor Day weekend in September.
