Casual Carpool Pick-Up to Relocate to West Side of Beale Street

Not that this really affects too many Rincon Hill residents, but it might affect which lanes you choose to drive in along Beale if you drive during commute hours.

Riders, Drivers Commuting to East Bay Must Use Other Side of Street Beginning Monday, December 22nd Due to Construction of Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal

WHAT: Beginning Monday, December 22nd, Casual Carpool, the informal ride sharing program which serves drivers and riders headed to the East Bay in the evening, will be relocated from its current location on the east side of Beale Street between Howard and Folsom streets to the west side of the same street. Following the relocation, construction on the Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal will begin along the east side of Beale Street. For more information about the relocation, please visit: www.TemporaryTerminal.org

The Temporary Terminal will serve as a temporary facility for existing Transbay Terminal bus operations, allowing demolition of the existing terminal and construction of the Transbay Transit Center. This temporary facility is expected to operate from August 2009 until 2014, when the new Transbay Transit Center will open.
