MUNI Schedule Changes Effective May 8th

Just passing the bad news along ….
On May 8, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates the Municipal Railway (Muni), will implement MUNI SCHEDULE CHANGES which include reduced frequencies and shorter hours of operation on many bus routes and rail lines. For details on specific schedule changes please visit www.sfmta.com.
Also related to MUNI, Supervisor Sean Elsbernd needs volunteers (and signatures of voters, for that matter) to help with his Fix Muni Now petition drive effort to get MUNI work rules and salaries removed from the City Charter via a voter proposition in November. SFWeekly had an excellent article on the ills of MUNI a couple of weeks ago – read it online if you haven’t seen it.
Also, a new grassroots group to advocate for public transit is coming together as the San Francisco Transit Riders Union (SFTRU) … visit their website to learn more.
