Oracle OpenWorld Conference Closes Howard Street between 3rd and 4th Streets

Starting Thursday, a one-block section of Howard Street between 3rd and 4th Streets will be closed to make room for Oracle’s OpenWorld Conference exhibits that won’t fit into Moscone Center. The block of roadway is scheduled to reopen at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 26th. The SFMTA’s Nathaniel Ford advises folks to avoid the area while driving, if possible (a little more challenging when you live in the Rincon Hill or Yerba Buena neighborhoods where the event is happening on your doorstep).
About 40,000 folks are expected to attend – adding quite a bit of competition for available taxi cabs over the next week or so. On the bright side, this is great for local businesses. Please be helpful to folks you run across who appear to be lost.
