While the topic of food is near and dear, I’d like to bring Dining Out for Life to your attention.
From the Dining Out for Life home page:
MAKE A DIFFERENCE – HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF HIV!
The STOP AIDS Project and Wells Fargo invite you to the 6th Annual Dining Out for Life presented by La Crema, Abbott Virology, SF Weekly, and CBS 5/The CW Bay Area!
Simply dine at one of our participating restaurants on Thursday, April 26, 2007 and 25 percent of your food bill will benefit the HIV prevention programs of the STOP AIDS Project.
Last year Dining Out for Life raised over $180,000 thanks to people like you. This year promises to be even bigger and better but we can’t do it without your help. Call one of our participating restaurants and make your reservation today. It will be one of the most satisfying meals you ever eat. Be sure to tell everyone you know to eat out on April 26th and thank you for your support.
On another front, please consider heading to City Hall on Thursday at 5:15pm for the kick-off meeting for the Better Streets Plan. Mayor Newsom will speak along with a health and wellness academic who typically costs big bucks to hear. The project itself is relatively short – expected to last until October of this year. The ramifications are pretty big – shaping how our streets are designed going forward with regard to pedestrians, parking, rain water runoff, bicycles, so on and so forth. Hope to see you there!
