Piers 30-32 (Warriors Arena) CAC Meetings and Website

The Port of San Francisco has formed a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for the Piers 30-32 project (also known as the Warriors Arena project). There are a series of meetings coming up very soon that you can see listed on the Piers 30-32 CAC website. Unless otherwise noted in the agenda, the meetings occur from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at The Port’s office at Pier 1 on The Embarcadero (just north of the Ferry Building, past Starbucks).

The first meeting, this Thursday, August 23rd, has an agenda posted. If you’d like to sign up for email notices about future Piers 30-32 CAC meetings, there’s a signup page for that too.

First four CAC meeting dates:

I would recommend that if you have an interest in the topics that appear on meeting agendas or in the overall project, please attend these meetings, listen to the discussions, and when public comment is requested, please do offer your ideas and thoughts to help make sure we get this right for the community.

I believe it is wonderful that The Port and the City are forming a CBD. We don’t have to look back too far to see the opposite circumstance where then-Mayor Gavin Newsom basically held closed door negotiations with the America’s Cup folks and was going to give away Piers 30-32 and Seawall Lot 330 …. and build marinas in Rincon Point Open Water Basin and Brannan Street Open Water Basin.  Nobody knows it all, and that’s why it is so important to have these suggestions that come from the CAC educated by your input and thoughts along the way.
